This is just my love letter to Thunderbolts* and to all the people that made it.
This movie has had whispers since we shot Black Widow, 6 years ago now. The filming got paused from all sorts of wild things and when it finally came around last year I was waiting for another wild moment to suddenly appear and take away this opportunity again.
Making this movie in the way that we did, felt like we ourselves, were holding the possibility and the opportunity of what it could be in our very own hands. None of that is possible without Marvel trusting us, and none of it would have happened or even been daydreamed without our beautiful director @jakeschreier. He led the charge and made sure we created something that would matter and mean a lot to all those watching it.
What was inspiring was as we were shooting I was going through my own personal life pains and I learnt from the very job I was on. Thunderbolts* is about so many things, but these huge characters asking for help is the most poignant of them all. I have such a connection to this film, my character, my history with Yelena, my admiration for how these movies are made, and the fact that this storyline (that hoped to reach as many fans as possible) actually reached me while I was in my funky state just makes me understand the power of movie making. No matter the costumes
These beautiful actors, fantastic crew members, and insanely loving and dedicated stunties all gave this experience shooting a wild wild ride.
It opens today.
I hope you go and enjoy the thrill of cinema. A lot of people put a lot of love and energy in to this and you can feel it.

This is the coolest behind the scenes photo I’ve ever gotten taken. It looks like Sentry and I are about to face off in the penthouse of Avengers Tower… But in reality, I was just checking my work.
Putting on the cape and accessories during last looks for each camera setup, I had to make sure everything looked straight and that the Golden God looked perfect while he was completely dismantling the West Chesapeake Valley Thunderbolts*
I had the absolute pleasure of dressing Lewis Pullman on Thunderbolts*. Putting that Sentry suit on was always an event. We put on some music, shared some laughs and got to work. This will always be one of the highlights of my career.

Oh gosh where do I even start. This project was so special in so many ways. It spanned two years and three states, starting in LA in 2023 then Atlanta, went on pause then back to LA in 2024, to Atlanta, to Utah and back to Atlanta. To travel for work was amazing but to travel with your best of friends was another.

@jessapaz put together an amazing group of talented, kindest people ever. Thank you for taking along in the ride and thank you for entrusting me into this new role! I loved the opportunity working with old friends and also meeting and working with new friends in Atlanta. That workroom we had is something that I will hold onto dearly for the rest of my life. The laughs and the shenanigans we had everyday outweighed all of the stress and problem solving we had to conquer every minute. Because this show was SO hard. There was so many early mornings and late nights of broken belts, zippers, boots, ect. Lots of tears were shed but it was still so much fun!

I’ll miss the workroom afternoon walks (mostly to go look for snacks from crafty) and @hamletphoto spontaneous laugh from the wall behind me also thank you for my Asian family portrait, yes I kept it. From @duncanshirah’s slingshot fires from across the room, to slowly bonding over our love of pyromania with my buddy Edmund, to banging the gong (which started off as a joke and I’m glad that it went off) whenever we finished a costume and of course to my partner from table to my left @tyler_smithart dude we did it. Also to my work sisters @jennzuke and @gidgetgoeswest thank you for taking me in!Lastly thank you @sanjahays. You are my fairy costume designing godmother because you’ve been there from the very beginning.

THUNDERBOLTS* / *NEW AVENGERS - CAST & CREW 2024… it does indeed take a literal village of talented weirdos to curate a Marvel Cinematic Adventure like this one… I’m ever grateful and devotedly honored to the film family I was graced to collaborate with in helping make this daring and action heavy romp - ESPECIALLY our team of skilled physical special effects whizz bang car crashers / dust blowers and pill bottle throwers.

NOTE TO ANY AND ALL THAT AREN’T A PERSONAL FRIEND NOR FELLOW FILM MAKERS ON THIS PROJECT: “I shared this on my personal page as a genuine tribute to my friends and coworkers - this was not announced to ANYONE AND EVERYONE to promote and repost at whim for their own purposes… as honored as I am for the gratitude and promotion of positivity that so many of you devoted fans to this project may hold - it’s quite baffling to see just how many of you are projecting my personal content to the world as though it’s public domain to distribute. I’m a film professional that has extreme pride in his craft - yet a humble intent on keeping a strict modicum of solidarity in low impact social media presence. This unfettered display of distribution is as perplexing as it is alarming. Sadly, I see precisely why we have a VERY VALID protocol for content security when working on these projects… this wasn’t an attempt to garner fanfare/followers nor social media status gain… we as artists and project collaboratives appreciate our adoring and devoted audience - just seems a bit over the top that so many snatch and grab for redistribution without so much as a formal request or personal correspondence. Not everyone wants to build a platform of social media projection around them - some of us just work hard to provide the best they can in their field of expertise… and yes we do it for the delight and cheer of our lovingly appreciative audience (thru the content and format of the film itself that is provided to that very same devoted audience).
