My y2k girlies, I should be competitive bc @itendswithusmovie is coming out in 3 weeks BUT when your middle school obsessions, your feelings post baby, or about Nice men who use feminism as a tool, your love of the Wizard of Oz, Succession, Sandy & Danny, driving with Avril blasting, the way the choreography of a certain boy*band song got me, of Baz Luhrmann fireworks to punctuate a moment, even down to the fact that our hair color is determined by seasons and the French method by which it’s painted are all so seen… MY WORD… it’s hard not to encourage my ladies to spot all the ways we’ve influenced @deadpoolmovie I’ve never been more proud. And I’ve given birth 4 times.

I remember the moment @slevydirect and @vancityreynolds had the idea for Elektra Natchios to show up in @deadpoolmovie 3— we were on the set of The Adam Project and they gave each other this look they have that can communicate an idea, 20 pages of dialogue, nuclear codes— there is a crazy artistic kismet between those two.

Other than trying to convince my kids’ preschool buddies that I was secretly a ninja, I hadn’t picked up Elektra’s sais since 2004; I was fit, but not @marvel fit.

As this impossible dream became reality, my bestie and OG stunt double @shaunaduggins and I amped up our training, led by @bethjnicely at @thelimitfit: 1x/day, plus whatever homework she assigned for a second workout. Boxing 3x/ week with @flvcothefuture from @matchroomxchurchillgym. And lots and lots of @onepeloton’s @becsgentry. We had #SuperHeroSummer over here, twirling sais in the backyard and laughing at our sore old bodies.

I didn’t know that Elektra and I needed an ending, but Shawn and Ryan did. They are gifted in many ways, but seeing and elevating people around them is at the top of the list. Shauna and I were in heaven on set with them, with my old pal @thehughjackman, @dafnekeen, @channingtatum, @realwesleysnipes. Shooting the fight was so fun, being there all together—truly like a dream. I’m proud of my friends and grateful to be up there with them. Thank you doesn’t cut it, guys, but it’s a good placeholder until I figure out what does.

To be safe, I shaved the moustache off for this one. Just the moustache.

If there's a Director heaven, I think I found it.

Kid in a candy store doesn’t even begin to describe it. These four heroes flew over to England a week in advance of shooting just to nail down all of their fight choreography. The day before they were supposed to film, our industry shut down with an actor’s strike and everyone went home. These four pals came back as soon as shooting resumed and delivered at a level you all now know. Honored to bring these characters to the big screen, and lucky to call them friends.

Like the rest of us, I’ve been addicted to @thehughjackman’s “Logan” ADR video for years. Today I proudly submit the next installment of this legend at work. Sound UP!

Years ago, I was one of many directors who met with @channingtatum about making a GAMBIT movie. It didn't happen then, for me or for Chan, but I'm eternally grateful we got another chance Like @vancityreynolds & @thehughjackman , Channing was BORN to play this iconic character, and while I'd love to take credit for his hilarious, charismatic, badass performance in #deadpoolandwolverine , I was mostly the lucky sonofabitch who had a front row seat to watch Destiny happen.

Our outstanding storyboard artist @williamgroebe pitched these Wolverine variants from comics he adored, and now they're a forever part of our movi hot tip in last pics : sometimes you paint the practical sets to help give the lighting a headstart...

On August 14th, 2022, @thehughjackman stopped his car to call me.

He’d been having a crappy week… he’d had the flu, two flat tires and some random idiot egged his house. But what happened next, happened fast. He told me he wanted to bring The Wolverine back.

Months later, he not only brought Wolvie back into the light, he’d (at long last) wear the iconic yellow suit.

@slevydirect and I didn’t talk about it much, but we were feeling a TON of pressure; worrying about how we walk these characters into the MCU, worrying about all of our secret characters STAYING secret — along with so many moving parts. But when Hugh stepped onto set in THAT SUIT… everyone knew something special was happening. I remember thinking everything was gonna be okay.

For months of filming and 100 years of editing and post production, I had a front row seat to WOLVERINE. Watching and learning from my friend and favourite actor. Two things can be true: 1) Sometimes I eat too much sugar, and secretly egg his house so I can feel something. And 2) I can be both a fan and friend, simultaneously.

I met him in Sydney around 2007. Back then he was already a movie star and I walked onto set a supporting actor. Showing up midway through production isn’t too dissimilar to starting a new school. I was a nervous mess. Film sets can have a scary imbalance of power and I remember seeing how he treated every member of the crew with genuine respect and appreciation. He made a case that the term “filmmaker” isn’t just for people with their name on the poster.

I don’t know anyone more thoughtful, and classy than Hugh. He’ll do anything for someone he loves. He’ll do anything for someone he just met.

In Deadpool & Wolverine Hugh didn’t just make dreams come true for fans of Wolverine. He made MY dreams come true too. He is THE X-Man.

Stunt work doesn’t have a category at The Oscars and I hope that’ll change someday. So many films SMASHED it this year… Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and Chaplin were stunt performers as well as filmmakers. Telling stories with their entire bodies.

The #DeadpoolAndWolverine stunt team over-delivered. Many are friends I’ve worked with for years and I’ll spend the rest of my days doodling their names in my Heidi Stationary, dotting all the “i’s” with little hearts.

I’ve worked with @alexkyshkovych since the very first @deadpoolmovie. He not only doubles me — he’s the Fight Coordinator. I’d take a sledgehammer to the face for Alex. Or rather, I’d ask Alex to take a sledgehammer to the face for Alex.

Second Unit Director/Supervising Stunt Coordinator, @georgejcottle is a HUGE GET. You’ve seen his genius in Spider-Man NWH along with a ton of other gems. His skill is world class and he made the entire film better. I’d ask Alex to take a rusty fork to the eye for George.

It’s mind boggling how much @thehughjackman does himself. But @danielstevens1 steps in for the truly dangerous stuff. He’s been “Wolverining” a long time. As we know, Wolverining is HARD. I’d ask Alex to eat the crab salad I left on the dashboard for three straight days this past July for Dan.

Huge shoutout to @listersbox for bringing a new and insane Wolvie gear to the Deadpool Corps fight as well.
