"I'm very excited about it as well. Jon and I had a great time working on that, as we always do. It was great seeing Grogu. He's become such a star, and it's amazing how it's evolved, what we can do now with the puppetry compared to Season 1 and where we are today in a film working with the team which I worked quite a bit with them on the puppetry."
"Legacy effects did a fantastic job, and what a wonderful little creation Grogu is."
According to Jeff Sneider, the journalist that first broke that Sigourney Weaver had been cast in The Mandalorian and Grogu, Weaver’s character is only in a few scenes in the flick, is a colonel of the New Republic, and her characters name is a direct reference to her hit movie, Aliens – Bishop.
I can confirm what Sneider has heard and that I’ve heard this from more than one source. I don’t have a ton to add to this story other than the loves to play Sabacc. It’s worthless information I know, but that’s all I got for this character who has little screen time in the movie.
Bespin Bulletin a écrit:When the news broke of White’s casting, I shared that Rotta was kind of buff in The Mandalorian and Grogu. Many found this tidbit to be odd, funny and confusing. However, there’s a reason Rotta is a buff boy and that’s because of what his job is – I’m told Rotta the Hutt is a gladiator in The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Given his profession, the buff body of Rotta makes more sense and in addition, he has some scarring on his face, likely from the battles he’s been in. Like many other gladiators, Rotta has a weapon and I believe that weapon is a vibroblade/vibrosword. Rotta is a far cry from little Stinky these days.
I mentioned it in my article covering the story that Embo is a villain in The Mandalorian and Grogu that Embo is hired by the two Hutts from The Book of Boba Fett to take out Rotta, but I heard mixed things on who hires Din Djarin to capture Rotta. I wrote that I’d heard it was the New Republic and have heard that again recently from another source, so that’s what I believe happens. I don’t know if it’s Sigourney Weaver’s Colonel Bishop that hires Din Djarin or not, but that definitely seems like a possibility.
"I get to have scenes with a little Grogu which is probably why I did the movie. And he's a little badass too. It's going to be wonderful for people to see what Grogu is up to now because he's grown up a little bit and is capable of much more than maybe we think just watching the series."
"I play a wonderful character who is, you know, in a position of authority. And I have to send the Mandalorian out on a mission on the Outer Rim where all the bad stuff happens."
"I admire [Star Wars], but I don't sit around wishing I was in another franchise, because I've been so lucky to be in some wonderful ones. But at the time, when I was offered it, I was delighted. I'm a great fan of John Favreau. I was already a great fan of The Mandalorian."
