Kathleen Kennedy a confirmé que l'objectif était de se concentrer sur des histoires autonomes :

"I really think that now we’re in a position where it’s broadened the possibility of stories and filmmakers we can bring in to tell stories that mean something to them – it doesn’t necessarily have to connect to every little thing that’s been done in Star Wars; it can actually be a standalone story that then builds into many, many other stories."

Iger et Bergman c'est vraiment les blaireaux originels, sérieux.
Leur rôle c'est d'aligner les billets, si c'était de prendre des décisions créatives pertinentes ça se saurait !
Un projet avec un acteur aussi excellent que Driver, un mec aussi inventif que Soderbergh à la barre qui est un réal qui cherche en permanence à se renouveler, un scénariste pas déconnant, une idée excitante sur le papier qui aurait pu permettre d'explorer un aspect plus mystique de la Force... c'est de ce genre de projet que la saga à besoin pour se renouveler, pas d'un épisode d'une série médiocre sur grand écran...

Et un autre... Même si je suis assez circonspect sur ces projets refusés, c'est fou de constater que les décideurs n'osent pas tenter davantage après avoir validé tout ce qui a été plutôt déceptif dans l'ensemble.

Imagine t'as Soderbergh et Fincher qui te proposent de bosser pour toi, et tu les envoies chier pour embaucher John Favreau et Shawn Levy.
Nan, je déconne, aucun studio censé ne prendrait des décisions aussi merdiques

C'est mon conformity gate à moi mais j'ai envie de croire que les fuites à propos de ce projet ce soit pour faire pression sur le nouveau big boss de disney et qu'il refasse pas la même connerie qu'Iger
